My Favorite AWAY Luggage & Travel Bags: 9 Must-Haves for Frequent Travelers

From checked suitcases to my favorite packing cubes, these are the AWAY travel finds worth knowing about.

If there’s one thing I know a little too much about, it’s luggage.

As a corporate event planner specializing in corporate events and golf hospitality, I spend A LOT of time traveling. Between early morning flights, work trips, golf tournaments, and constantly packing and unpacking, my luggage gets quite the workout.

And somewhere along the way, I’ve become a little obsessed with AWAY.

I love luggage that looks good, keeps me organized, and makes moving through airports a little less chaotic. Because when you’re constantly living out of a suitcase, the little details really do matter.

What I also love about AWAY is that there are so many different bags for different types of travel. Sometimes I need a large checked suitcase packed with outfits for an entire event. Other times I’m trying to squeeze everything into a carry-on and get through the airport as quickly as possible.

And let’s be real, sometimes the amount of luggage I need depends entirely on how many outfit options I’ve convinced myself are necessary.

So I’m sharing nine of my favorite AWAY luggage pieces, everyday bags, and travel accessories, including a couple of absolute standouts.

Whether you’re a frequent business traveler, planning your next vacation, or finally investing in luggage you love, here’s what I’d look at.

The Suitcases: My AWAY Luggage Favorites

1. The Large Checked Suitcase — 29 Inches

For longer trips, I love having a suitcase that gives me room to pack everything I need without playing an aggressive game of suitcase Tetris.

The AWAY Large is a 29-inch checked suitcase with plenty of space for clothing, shoes, toiletries, and all the other things that somehow end up on my packing list.

This is the kind of luggage I reach for when a trip requires several different outfits, whether that’s work clothes, golf attire, comfortable travel outfits, or something cute for dinner.

What makes this size so appealing is that you’re not constantly trying to squeeze everything into a smaller bag.

And honestly, there’s something nice about arriving somewhere and actually having outfit options.

Best for: Longer vacations, multi-day work events, and travelers who prefer having extra packing space.

2. The Trunk Checked Suitcase — 31 Inches

When a regular checked suitcase isn’t enough, enter the AWAY Trunk.

The Trunk is a larger checked suitcase with a deeper main compartment and a slimmer lid. That layout is particularly appealing when you’re packing bulky clothing, larger items, or an extended trip’s worth of outfits.

I love the idea of having a suitcase that’s built for the trips where packing light simply isn’t realistic.

Think longer vacations, extended work trips, or destinations where you need several different types of clothing.

The shape is also a little different from a traditional suitcase, giving it that classic trunk-inspired look.

One thing worth keeping in mind: with this much space, it’s very easy to overpack. A luggage scale is definitely your friend, and I’d check your airline’s size and weight restrictions before traveling.

Best for: Extended trips, bulky packing lists, and anyone who needs maximum checked-luggage space.

3. The Carry-On Flex — 22 Inches

A special shout-out to one of my favorite travel pieces!

The AWAY Carry-On Flex deserves its own moment because I love how versatile it is.

Sometimes I bring it on the plane as my carry-on, and other times I check it. It really just depends on where I’m going, how long I’ll be gone, and how much I’m bringing with me.

That’s exactly why I love having a suitcase that works for different kinds of trips.

The Flex has an expandable zipper that gives you additional packing space when you need it, which is incredibly convenient when you’re returning home with more than you originally packed.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who somehow comes home from a trip with more stuff than I left with.

One important thing to know: when the suitcase is fully expanded, it may need to be checked depending on the airline and aircraft.

For someone who travels frequently, having a smaller suitcase that offers a little flexibility can make packing decisions easier.

Best for: Weekend getaways, shorter work trips, frequent flyers, and travelers who want flexibility between carrying on and checking a bag.

The Everyday Bags: My AWAY Personal Item Favorites

4. The Everywhere Bag

A good personal item can make such a difference on travel days.

The AWAY Everywhere Bag has a polished look while still being designed for actual travel. It features a wide zip opening, multiple organizational pockets, a laptop compartment, and a trolley sleeve that slides over a suitcase handle.

I especially appreciate bags that can keep travel essentials together while still looking appropriate when you arrive at a meeting or head straight from the airport to an event.

Nobody wants to spend five minutes digging through an enormous bag looking for a phone charger or lip gloss.

The Everywhere Bag is a great option for anyone who likes a structured, organized alternative to a backpack.

Best for: Business travel, overnight trips, and anyone who prefers carrying a duffel-style personal item.

5. The Everywhere Zip Backpack

There are times when having a backpack simply makes life easier.

The AWAY Everywhere Zip Backpack is designed with a full zip opening, organized compartments, and a dedicated space for your laptop.

What I like about this style is that it feels more polished than a traditional casual backpack while still being practical for travel.

When you’re moving through airports, managing luggage, checking emails, and trying to keep everything organized, having both hands free is a huge plus.

And if you’re traveling with a laptop and other work essentials, organization becomes even more important.

Best for: Business travelers, commuters, and anyone who likes the convenience of a backpack without sacrificing style.

6. The Everywhere Tote

Sometimes you just want a good tote bag.

The AWAY Everywhere Tote is a stylish option for workdays, travel days, and everyday errands. It has a zippered top, room for a laptop, and an understated design that works with just about anything.

I love the versatility of a bag that can go from an airport to a work meeting without feeling out of place.

And while backpacks are incredibly practical, there are definitely times when I’d rather carry a tote.

This is a great option for someone who wants an everyday bag that also works for travel.

Best for: Everyday work bags, lighter travel days, and women who prefer a tote to a backpack.

7. The Featherlight Backpack

Not every trip requires a big, structured bag.

The AWAY Featherlight Backpack is a great example of why having a lighter, more flexible bag can be useful.

I like the idea of something that’s easy to grab for a casual day out, an excursion, or a trip where you want a little extra storage without carrying a heavier everyday bag.

It’s the kind of practical travel accessory that can fit into different parts of your life, rather than being something you only pull out for the airport.

Especially when you’re traveling frequently, having bag options for different activities makes life a little easier.

Best for: Sightseeing, casual travel days, lighter packing, and everyday adventures.

The Accessories: Little Things That Make a Big Difference

8. AWAY Packing Cubes

Another one of my absolute favorites!

I genuinely love packing cubes, and AWAY’s are a standout on my travel accessories list.

If you’re not using packing cubes yet, I cannot recommend trying them enough.

There’s something so satisfying about opening your suitcase and seeing everything neatly organized instead of looking like you emptied your entire closet into it.

Packing cubes make it easier to separate outfits, keep different types of clothing together, and find exactly what you need without tearing apart your luggage.

They’re especially helpful when you’re packing for work trips where you need everything from casual airport outfits to business clothes and evening attire.

And when you’re constantly packing and unpacking, anything that makes that process easier is a win.

I love that AWAY offers different packing cube options, so you can choose the style that works for the way you pack.

Best for: Literally anyone who travels. These are one of my favorite ways to keep a suitcase organized.

9. The Stadium Bag

This one might be a little different from the others, but I had to include it.

Between golf tournaments, sporting events, concerts, and other events, having a clear stadium bag can be incredibly useful.

AWAY’s Stadium Bag gives you a way to carry the essentials without bringing a large purse or worrying as much about venue bag restrictions.

It’s small, structured, and has a removable crossbody strap, which makes it convenient when you want to keep your hands free.

I also love that it feels more stylish than some of the typical clear bags you see at sporting events.

Just remember that stadium and concert venue bag policies vary, so it’s always worth checking the requirements before you go.

Best for: Sporting events, concerts, festivals, and venues that require clear bags.

Which AWAY Luggage Should You Choose?

If you’re trying to decide which AWAY bag makes the most sense, I think it really comes down to how you travel.

For longer trips where you need plenty of outfits, I’d look at The Large or The Trunk.

For shorter trips or someone who wants more flexibility, the Carry-On Flex is one of my favorite options.

And when it comes to personal items, think about how you actually like carrying your things. Some people love the organization and hands-free convenience of a backpack, while others prefer a tote or a more structured travel bag.

And regardless of which suitcase you choose, I think packing cubes are one of the easiest upgrades you can make to your packing routine.

Final Thoughts: Is AWAY Luggage Worth It?

If you’re someone who travels frequently, I think investing in luggage and bags that work for your lifestyle is worth considering.

For me, travel isn’t just an occasional vacation. It’s a regular part of my job, and I appreciate products that make packing, navigating airports, and staying organized a little easier.

I also love that AWAY offers different pieces for different situations. You don’t necessarily need every bag, but finding the right combination can make a big difference.

Whether you’re heading out for a weekend getaway, packing for a week of work events, or preparing for a longer vacation, I hope this helps you find a travel setup that works for you.

And if you need me, I’ll probably be somewhere between an airport gate and convincing myself I can fit one more outfit into my suitcase.

Happy travels, and may your luggage always arrive with you!

XOXO, Emily
